Common questions
What should an electrician's invoice include?
Your business and VAT details, a unique invoice number and date, the customer's details, itemised labour and materials, the subtotal, VAT at 20 percent if registered, the total, and how and when to pay.
Do I need to charge VAT on an electrical invoice?
Only if you are VAT registered, which is required once your turnover passes the threshold and optional below it. If registered, show your VAT number and add 20 percent VAT as a separate line.
