SparkCerts runs the whole job for a UK sparky. You price the work on your phone, send the quote, do the install, fill in the EIC or EICR on site and the invoice goes out with the certificate attached. One app, one monthly fee, everything in the right place when the customer or NICEIC asks.
First three jobs free. £12 a month after. Cancel whenever.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION CERTIFICATE
BS 7671
Invoice £480 sent with cert attached
PAIDMost sparks we know run the business out of three places. Quotes live in WhatsApp and a notes app. Certificates live in a separate cert app or a pad of NAPIT forms in the van. Invoices live in whatever was cheapest that year. Chasing one finished job means opening all three and hoping the house number matches.
The big field service suites fix the admin and ignore the certs. The cert apps do beautiful certificates and leave the money side to you. SparkCerts was built on the bet that an electrician's quote, test results and invoice are one job and should live in one record.
EIC, EICR and Minor Works to BS 7671, filled in on your phone with the meter still in your hand. Test results validate as you type, so a Zs that can't be right gets flagged on site instead of by the scheme assessor. PDF signed and emailed before you leave.
Price a board change in the customer's kitchen from your own price list. They accept by tapping a link, and the job, the cert and the deposit request are created off the back of it.
The invoice goes out with the certificate attached, which is usually the moment a landlord stops being slow about paying. Reminders go out on a schedule you set. CIS and VAT handled.
Today's jobs with addresses, gate codes, board photos from the survey and what you quoted. Works offline in a basement, syncs when you're back on signal.
When the EICR is due in five years, SparkCerts tells you first. Recurring landlord work becomes a list you ring through every January instead of business you hope comes back.
Tradify and Commusoft are good at running a ten-van firm, and if that's you, buy one of them. They cost £30 to £60 per user per month and you'll still need a separate certification app. SparkCerts is for the sole trader and the two-man band. It does fewer things, the things it does are the ones you touch every day, and it costs £12.
We're new. The certificate engine, quoting and invoicing work today. Gas certs for your plumber mates, a Xero sync and team accounts are on the list, in that order, and the roadmap page shows what's actually being built rather than what sounds good.
Every feature, unlimited jobs, unlimited certificates. Your first three jobs are free so you can run real work through it before a penny changes hands. Leave any month and export every certificate and invoice as PDFs on your way out. They're your documents.
The forms follow the BS 7671 model forms, which is what scheme providers assess against. You stay responsible for the testing and the signature, same as with paper.
Every certificate and invoice is a standard PDF you can bulk-export at any time, and we'd give 90 days notice. A new company should answer this question before you ask it.
Yes. Certificates and job notes work offline and sync when the van finds 4G again.
Today it covers electrical certs only. Gas certificates are next on the roadmap, and quoting and invoicing already work fine for any trade's jobs.
Three jobs free. If it saves you an evening of paperwork, it stays in the van.
